"Las 3 Hermanas"Awardees Announced

Mission Housing Development Corporation is proud to announce its 2019 "Las 3 Hermanas" awardees.

The 2019 Community Justice Award will be given to Doña Olinda Orellana, a member of the Faith in Action Bay Area Network. Orellana has worked tirelessly to organize the senior community and make sure their interests are protected.

The 2019 Rooted Advocate Award will be given to Shanell Williams. Wiliams is the Community Engagement Director at the University of California, San Francisco. A native of San Francisco, Williams is a former candidate for the Supervisor position of District 5.

The 2019 Legacy of Culture Award will be given to Susan Kelk Cervantes. Cervantes is a legendary muralist in San Francisco and the Executive Director of the nationally-renowned Precita Eyes.

The 2019 "Las 3 Hermanas" Community Awards will take place on Sept. 19 at Mission Housing's Gala Fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will benefit the nonprofit's Resident Services Programs.
